What To Listen To Now

Dec 3, 2012 ·

(What To Listen To Now is a series of monthly playlists, curated by Chop Shop alum and Disney music supervisor, Matt Mugford.)

Here we go for the last time in 2012!!

DISCLAIMER: I like Christmas music, but don't love it like some of you. That is why I am only including a couple of my holiday favorites and am letting you be responsible to play your Bublé and Amy Grant albums on your own. Deal? Ok... here's the December playlist, with a little tinge of holiday spirit. Enjoy!

The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather
It's finally cold enough in LA to wear a sweater!

Vince Guaraldi Trio - Christmas Time Is Here
This is my most absolute favorite #1 of all time Christmas song! I love the sad music mixed with kids singing the most happy and hopeful lyrics.

Wild Belle - Keep You
I heard this song several months ago and instantly fell in love. Then I saw singer Natalie Bergman in concert and fell in love again. Then I watched the music video and...you get the point. P.S. who doesn't love a good baritone sax solo?

Iko - Dazed and Confused
I can't seem to get this song out of my head.

Tegan And Sara - Closer
Indie rockers getting poppy. I dig it. Every section is a chorus. Genius.

Rihanna ft. Mikky Ekko - Stay
I'd like to draw your attention to my comments on the last track from the October Playlist. It's all happening!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft. Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us
Admittedly, I don't usually get too deep in the rap/hip-hop game, but this whole album (The Heist) is brilliant.

The 1975 - Sex
As the title suggests, this is a spicy little number.

Lord Huron - Lonesome Dreams
One of my favorite songs of 2012.

Boy - Boris
Good luck googling this band.

U2 - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
I know it's kind of cliché to say, but U2 is my favorite band. Kind of a ridiculous song, but I love it.

How can I find these playlists in the Spotify app? I want to subscribe to them! 🙂

Hi Heather! Do you have Spotify already downloaded on your computer? It should automatically open the playlist in Spotify and then give you the option to subscribe... I will look into it more and post the details! Thanks for bringing this up!
