Time flies, doesn't it? Next week Aaron and I will be celebrating our two year wedding anniversary (which sounds so crazy-- I still remember that day so vividly!) so I thought it only fitting that today's post should take us to Mallorca, where we honeymooned. I usually have no problem picking a destination and planning a trip, but for some reason I had the hardest time deciding where to go on our honeymoon. There was so much pressure! It was worth all of the time and research, though, because we had the best time and fell head over heels in love with this little island!
Even in June the island was not overrun with tourists. We rented our tiny little fiat and drove everywhere from the lighthouse at the top of a sharp-edged cliff to a totally deserted sandy beach. We walked cobblestone roads in quaint little towns, saw a couple getting married in a church that was 1000 years old, and had paella and espresso while watching waves crash on the beach. It was amazing.
Cliffs everywhere! Scary, but beautiful!
Where to stay: Hotel La Residencia
I would say this hotel is still in my top two or three hotels of all time. The rooms, the views, the food was all incredible. It is nestled into the little town of Deia away from the busy capital of Palma but just minutes from tiny secluded beaches. The bed we slept in was so comfortable that I analyzed the whole mattress, feather bed, sheet situation and recreated it once we were back home!
What to Pack:
SHOP THE LOOK: Top Row: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 // Bottom Row: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Have a great weekend!

I've always wanted to go to Mallorca- these photos are gorgeous! You're right on with pressure for the honeymoon...it's not an easy decision! My husband left the wedding to me (mostly!) and he planned the entire honeymoon. It was surprise location until we boarded the plane...Thailand was the destination 🙂 Happy Anniversary!
