Stars + Stripes

Happy Fourth of July Eve!  Since Aaron is on hiatus for the next couple of weeks, I talked him into shooting yesterday’s post for my series with Camille Styles.  We had so much fun driving around the neighborhood and finding interesting places to shoot around our house.  We had a slight disagreement about this wall.  Aaron didn’t want to shoot it because it was in full sun and not ideal lighting by any standard.  However, it is Fourth of July week and what could possibly be more patriotic ?  Nothing.

We are in the middle of a major heat wave here in Los Angeles, so I’ve been finding creative ways to stay put-together without feeling like I’m melting. And since it can be a challenge to sit on a picnic blanket or play a game of bocce ball in my usual summer dresses, lately I’ve been loving a good romper for a playful alternative!

This one is from Topshop and I love how structured and preppy it feels. It could easily go from picnic to brunch to baby shower without missing a beat.  You might remember these shoes from this post — I’m not ashamed to say that they are in constant rotation in my wardrobe!

What are your plans for tomorrow?  I sort of can’t believe it, but on this most favorite of holidays we still don’t have plans!  Any fun things happening in LA?  I hope your holiday is filled with friends, fun, and plenty of yummy eats and drinks!

  1. those shoes!!!!

  2. Great location, loved the bright light, gives it a vintage washed out look.

  3. Love this outfit! Perfect for the 4th.

  4. What a fabulous find! I really like the fabric and the two-toned color scheme on the shoulders. Really flattering!
