We’ve been very busy lately at Caitlin & Caitlin Design Co. From fresh designs to finishing touches, we are stoked on all the cool projects we’re working on for our clients. With all the commotion, we often turn to coffee to keep us going, but at C+C, nothing gives us adrenaline like BRIGHT colors, BOLD fabrics, and LUMINOUS spaces! We’re going to give you a few tips on how you can turn up the volume of your interior and make high voltage elements work in fun, chic ways!
1. Hot pink, deep turquoise, chartreuse! Neon is huge, and not going anywhere soon. You don’t have to play it safe these days. Jump right into color, and go wild! The water is fine, we promise, but if you need to wade in, try a sofa in a neutral navy or soothing green. You can always scale it back by adding a neutral rug or side table if a lemon-lime chair is too high-octane for you.
2. There are a lot of great prints on the market, but sadly, as soon as a trendy fabric saturates it, you might be feeling cliché. We get it. You don’t want your decor to belong in a Pinterest graveyard. However, don’t let fad phobia deter you from choosing bold patterns! Keep it classic and turn to their (sometimes overshadowed) sister prints. Have you been crazy about Ikat? Check out a flame stitch! Polka dots? We love this medallion stamped blue and white polka dot chair. Do you feel like chevron has seen its day? Look into large-scale herringbones. Prints are popular because they are versatile and so much fun! You don’t have to fall victim to trend tragedy just to join the pattern party!
