Are you a hat person? I wasn't for years until I discovered this one and now I'm always on the hunt for a new one. They're incredibly practical for bad hair days or I don't have time to care hair days, but also for shielding your skin from the harsh summer sun. Britt had an old one laying around, so we decided to give it a little sprucing up and make it our own with these colorful pom poms. You know there's nothing I love more than a good, easy as pie DIY, so don't fret. This Pom Pom Hat DIY literally takes 20 minutes, costs very little, and can be done by the most amateur of DIY-ers. Pom Pom Hat DIY
What You'll Need:
- a hat to decorate
- yarn (as few or as many colors as you would like to use on your hat
- natural colored string, about half a yard
- scissors
- (if your hat doesn't have a band like ours, you may want to hot glue the poms. we just used string and tied them on.)
Pom Pom Hat DIY (continued)
Instructions:
Begin by cutting each color of yarn into about 50 2-3 inch long, even pieces. The longer the yarn, the bigger your pom poms will be. The more pieces you include, the fuller they will be. Bundle them together and pull tight with string across the middle as seen in the picture below. Using additional string, secure the pom poms to the hat.
That's literally it! Easy, peasy, right?
