There is something really interesting about leaving a city for an entire decade and then returning. My senior year of college, I was super over campus life and decided to move off campus with my bestie, so we found the coolest place we could afford on South Congress and immediately signed a lease. It was the same year that Home Slice opened on the avenue and long before Perla's, By George or Hop Doddy's moved to the neighborhood. We frequented Guero's at Happy Hour and Magnolia Cafe during all of the other other hours. We threw super basic dinner parties, made croissant french toast on Saturday mornings, and spent the wee hours listening to music with our friends who had much better taste in music than we did. We clocked more miles than I can imagine walking the blocks between Riverside and Oltorf. It was in that apartment that I first started googling costume designers and felt a spark of interest ignite that never really went away. Then May rolled around, I graduated and headed west for LA. I was going to be back in a year...
Fast forward to South Congress 10 years later. Same street. New stores. Lots of California memories in my pocket. A little wiser. A lot more confident. Better shoes. More wrinkles. Really, really happy with where this life adventure has taken me so far. Pretty sure I would have worn this skirt ten years ago, too. Oh, and this striped cashmere sweater from the BURU white label? The coziest thing! So glad temps are beginning to drop here! How are things in your 'hood? Getting a taste of fall yet?!

I love your outfit and its always nice to visit a place you haven't been too in years. It's nostalgic and usually in a good way.
