Is it just me or does it seem harder to bid adieu to the weekend as we inch closer to spring and summer? How is one supposed to prepare for the work week when it's still light out at 7pm and visions of sunshine and palm trees are dancing in their head? I've officially packed up all of my sweaters (not that we had much need for them here in the first place this year) and put my favorite summer pieces in front and center in my closet. While my winter style is more east-coast-prep, in the spring and summer I tend to wear drapier, more bohemian pieces. Easy tops and great denim (like these from Anthropologie) become my total uniform.
This first look is obviously more bohemian. I love the light, faded wash of these boyfriend jeans with the white peasant top. It's so light and airy and fresh for spring! I can't get enough of this tassel necklace either. It's a great way to make a simple black dress more casual or to elevate jeans and top. Check out other great jeans here and tops here!
The next look is more classic-- ankle skinny jeans (also from Anthropologie) with a cool, more structured black top. Plus those green baubles and that clutch! Again, they would be equally great with a cocktail dress for drinks, but they totally work to bring together this simple jean and top look.
Raise your hands if you're ready for summer!
