I was six months pregnant with Parker when my skin totally changed. I noticed that my normally oily skin was completely parched and started on a never ending journey of beginning to take care of my skin in a way I hadn’t before. It was my first real skincare routine that wasn’t just targeted at breakouts. Fast forward five years, two children, and a new business later and I’m more focused on looking fresh faced after nights that are often times lacking in sleep. I shared on Instagram last month when I first began implementing Olay’s new Brightening Eye Cream. I was intrigued. I love that it’s jam-packed with vitamins and minerals like Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Vitamin B3. I also love that it’s available at CVS Pharmacy and is an affordable price point. (Skincare can really get expensive!) Here’s how I’ve been using it and how it’s worked for me:
I started using it in the evenings for about six weeks. I exfoliate 4-5 times a week. Overkill? Maybe, but I love the way my skin feels and it doesn’t break out so I’ll keep at it. Next I cleanse with something gentle. Then I pat my skin dry and start the moisturizing process. The key? Layers! I start with Olay’s Brightening Eye Cream, dabbing my finger in the jar and then under my eyes and all the way out to my hairline. While that is being absorbed, I spray a light hydrating mist on my skin (Olay recently released a new mist, too!) and then usually brush my teeth to give that time to absorb. Next I put on a creamy moisturizer. I like a lot of moisture, but nothing too heavy. Lastly, I seal everything in with a few drops of oil that I spread around on my finger tips before applying to my skin.
Even in just six weeks, I’ve noticed a really big difference in the brightness under my eyes. My skin also feels softer to the touch. I would love to know what your evening skincare routine looks like. If you pick up Olay’s new Brightening Eye Cream, be sure to reach out here or on Instagram and let us know how it’s working for you! I really think you’re going to love it!
