Mixed Prints with Hayneedle

May 20, 2013 ·

Hayneedle-Hammock-1

Ginghams and stripes and florals, oh my!  Most of you know me well enough by now to know that I love a good pattern-play ensemble.  If you need proof, I give you exhibit A.  Lately, I have observed so many of my wardrobe tendencies slowly appearing in the way I design the rooms in our house.  There is a diamond rug / polka dot pillow situation happening right now in our living room that makes me giddy!  When Hayneedle asked me to interpret some of my favorite fashion trends for the home, I jumped at the chance!  Be sure to check out the full post here.

I can't think of a more relaxing way to spend a sunny afternoon than in a hammock, so naturally our picnic set-up began with this rope hammock from Island Bay.  The geometric print of this hammock pillow was the perfect contrast for the more whimsical, floral prints that we chose in our dishes.Mixed Prints 2

We made these brie, avocado, and turkey sandwiches with the homemade pretzel rolls we made here.  They're the perfect picnic bite!  I love the floral pattern of this Lenox plate against the gingham of our picnic blanket.

Since I always need a little sweet bite after something savory, we piled this Lenox Tiered Server high with lemon bars and madeleines and left these matching dessert plates scattered around for people to help themselves.

I love the modern take on a floral print of these pillows.  Fits right in, doesn't it?  We were in need of stripe so we chose this outdoor pouf ottoman-- that just so happens to be the most comfortable outdoor seat.  I love the idea of scattering a couple of these around your normal outdoor patio set-up if you are expecting more guests than usual.

We spray-painted this bocce ball set to fit in with our color palette.  You can only lounge for so long before wanting a little action, right? I don't know about you, but I have a feeling this how I will be spending the weekend!  Be sure to hop on over here and check out the full post!
