I don't know about you guys, but this week has been jam packed with all kinds of shoots, prep work, and even some house projects. I am glad you made time to stop by today, though, so that I can introduce you to Jenn Blake, one of the most fabulous gals around town in Seattle. She is an event designer and stylist, owns a vintage rental (Scout) and the event design company, Bow Tie & Bustle. We met at a dinner in Salt Lake City and I was instantly enamored with her one-of-a-kind vintage aesthetic. Check out her fun and quirky style!
How would you describe your personal style?
On most days I would describe my style as something on the verge of vintage-eclectic-chic. I'm obsessed with incorporating something vintage into my outfits. I also love juxtaposing & mixing patterns, colors and textures while polishing things off with a neutral shoe or jacket. On days when I'm just hanging out, I verge a little more towards a bohemian vibe.
Where were you going in this look?
This particular look is something I would wear to meet with a client or to an industry event. I love bold pops of color against fun patterns. I'm not a big accessory kinda girl, but I love throwing in a fun floral pin on my jacket or wearing a pretty vintage accessory. The vintage jewelry I'm wearing is perfect because it can go from day to night while still giving off that quirky vibe I love so much.
What do you love most about it?
I probably love the bold colors most. I've been all about the "pop of color" lately - colored denim is my new best friend.
Do you have a style icon?
Sienna Miller, Alexa Chung, Diane Keaton's Annie Hall moments & SJP.
Where are your favorite places to shop?
I'm obsessed with all things vintage - you'll often find me pursuing vintage boutiques wherever I go. I also love mixing a solid/classic Madewell piece with an eclectic patterned piece from Anthropologie. I'm also in love with the French brand Comptoir des Cotonniers.
What is on your wishlist for Spring?
I'll be spending the majority of spring/early summer in Europe, so I'm itching to find some classic perfect fitting tees to add to my wardrobe for layering. Easy pack - easy classic wear.
What is one piece of style advice you would give someone?
Wear what makes YOU feel good.
A huge thanks to Jenn for participating and also to Julie Harmsen Photography for her beautiful photos!
