Did you happen to catch our latest post yesterday over on Camille Styles? As this bump continues to grow, getting dressed has been a bit of an adventure. The stylist in me actually enjoys the challenge of putting together looks that feel true to my pre-baby-bump sense of style, but are still functional for running around town and shlepping garment bags, but sometimes a girl just wants a pair of leggings and her favorite cashmere sweater, ya know?
Mary and I shot this post in front of one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, The Village. We have taken both of our families here, had plenty of date nights here, and it's also the spot where we first told some of our favorite friends about our impending new addition!
I purchased this quilted leather jacket (similar to this one) last year after immediately falling in love with the simplicity of the silhouette and the understated, quilted details. It's a style that has been around since the 1960's ala Chanel, but leather is a huge trend this season so it feels relevant and fresh at the same time. The same goes for these gray Coach ankle booties. The orange detail and herringbone pattern adds some interest to the boot and keep them from being too plain jane, but the silhouette is a total classic. The exception in this outfit? This graphic maternity top from ASOS. Since I know I'll only be wearing it for a short time, I decided to have a little fun with some of my pregnancy purchases.
Hope your Decembers are off to a wonderful start! If you'd like to get a little peek at my prepping and styling adventures this week, you can follow along here!
