Cool Hunting || Black and White Gingham

Is there anything better than a fresh take on a classic?  I feel like that alone could perfectly sum up my style. I am a sucker for preppy silhouettes and classic color palettes with a twist and this trend totally fits the bill.  (And is literally everywhere from Target to Neiman Marcus and every place in between.) It’s hard to tell if it was designed by Elsa Schiaparelli, worn in Marseilles by Coco Chanel, or purchased recently at your local Madewell.  A few tips for wearing: Opt out of black shoes and accessories and instead go for a pretty caramel brown leather or bright navy blue for a pop.   Also, get playful with it. Juxtapose the classic-ness of this pattern with something really funky or modern like kick flare jeans or  architectural jewelry.  Otherwise, don’t limit this timeless trend. She’ll gladly accompany you to the beach or office, picnic or happy hour.  Just style accordingly. (Dying over the skirt in number four but just can’t justify it since I won’t be able to wear until probably next summer. The dress from number six is currently sitting somewhere in a digital shopping cart. Only time will tell what happens next.)
