I know it's Tuesday, but after a whirlwind week in NYC last week and a fun weekend visit from my best friend, I sort of feel like I am just getting caught up! How were your weekends? I hope you all enjoyed last week's Cocktail Hour post with Mark and Graham, because we are back this week with another one! This one is a major favorite too! Hope on over to M & G for the full post and more of Melissa's beautiful photos...
Recipe
(makes 5 glasses)
- 1 bottle of red wine (the fruit is going to add some sweetness, so opt for something a little more full-bodied)
- 1-2 cups apple brandy
- 4 oranges
- 4 apples
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
- ½ cup 100% pomegranate juice
- Whole cinnamon sticks (2 for the sangria, and 1 per glass that you plan on serving)
24 hours before serving, combine red wine, 1 cup of apple brandy, pomegranate juice, fruit, and 2 cinnamon sticks into a large carafe or serving container. Cover and refrigerate for 12-24 hours. Sample before serving and add more brandy to taste. Garnish glasses with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick.
Enjoy! (And have an extra glass for me!)

I made a very similar version of this but using Vinho Verde for a white sangria -- will definitely have to try this red version with the pomegranate!

Yum, I love the idea of sparkling sangria! Did you still soak the fruit overnight? Was it still sparkling the next day?

that looks delicious, and what gorgeous photos!
