In a city notorious for it’s lack of seasons, somehow yesterday Los Angeles got the memo. On the way to the gym I had to double back inside the house for a sweatshirt. Later in the morning at the farmer’s market, I was greeted not only by the sweetest strawberries, but by brisk cool breezes. Even a tiny little two year old toddled by and exclaimed to her mom, “It sure is nice out here!” It seemed only fitting that we continued to celebrate this most perfect of autumnal equinoxes in full fall fashion, and what could be more fall festive than a trip to the LA County Fair?
In my home state of Texas we have all kinds of fairs and festivals and they all have three things in common: funnel cakes, ferris wheels and boots for days! Naturally, this seemed like the perfect occasion to take my new Coach Honey booties out for a spin.
The gray leather makes them the perfect boot for just about any color in your closet. The orange leather lining on the inside peeks through in the tiny perforated herringbone pattern above the heel. Not only making them très chic but separating them from the other dozens and dozens of ankle boots occupying store shelves at this moment. It’s all in the details, right?
Our LA fair adventure included the usual suspects: a myriad of carnival games, a ferris wheel ride, a stop in the photo booth and a savory snack at the grilled cheese truck on our way out. The most exciting part of the night, though, might have been the fifty degree weather we were greeted with when the sun went down. Hello, fall! Stay awhile, won’t you?
