As I write this post and as I look at the images from this most recent visit to Elizabeth Street Cafe, I'm immediately taken back to my friend, Jenn Elliott Blake. We met so many, many years ago at a sponsor dinner during my very first Alt Conference after I had just launched the site six months prior (early 2012, I think?). She's one of the truest and most talented people I have ever met. You likely already own a cookbook she has styled or have pinned countless of her images into your own pin boards, but she would just as likely never bring that up to you in conversation. Anyhow, we met here one day a couple of years ago when we were both in town for jobs, before we moved back to Austin permanently, and ordered a plethora of delicious things that just kept coming out more delicious than the next. Between that and my delightful company, this has been one of my happy spots in Austin ever since. Have you visited?!
The prettiest color palette meets the most quintessential of cafe decor set amongst crushed granite outside and weaving vines climbing every surface. Speaking of quintessentials, I have been into basics lately (always?). My favorite sweaters plus my favorite jeans plus a pair of my favorite shoes equals just about every outfit I wear these days and I'm not at all mad about it.
turtleneck, Vince || jeans, Mother || clogs, Dolce Vita
Don't miss those beignets with homemade preserves in the upper corner of the shot-- so delish! Also featured are the crispy vermicelli cakes with pork belly and poached eggs with ginger sausage.

So beautiful! Elizabeth St. Cafe is such a lovely little gem in Austin! I love it so much that I found a french-vietnamese restaurant in Houston last year when I drove down there to get my wedding dress! It's called Le Colonial, and has a nearly identical menu and similar decorating scheme as Elizabeth St!
Your outfit is precious. I love those gorgeous shoes!!
