I can't believe that Christmas is just one week from today! Between the hosting of parties and the attending of parties, December has felt like one big soirée! Can anyone relate? As much as I love wearing a new dress and a pair of sparkly shoes, I have to admit that my favorite holiday moments tend to be the quieter ones. I love coming home after a long day and opening the door to the sparkling lights of our Christmas tree in the living room or baking in the kitchen with my mom on Christmas eve. The early mornings I get to spend with Aaron enjoying a cup of coffee before the craziness of the day ensues are my absolute favorite. When Nespresso asked if I would be interested in sharing what a tasteful holiday meant to me and hosting a giveaway for you, I jumped at the opportunity. My favorite mugs have been filled with Nespresso coffee for years now. It is my absolute favorite! No other coffee that you can make at home even comes close to the taste of Nespresso.
Since I can't partake in my usual Christmas cocktails this holiday, I have been making this delicious treat for myself. I usually find hot chocolate to be too sweet after a few sips, so this is the perfect substitute! Be sure to keep reading for details on our Nespresso giveaway below!
Holiday Cafe Con Leche Recipe
(makes 1 mug)
- 1- Nespresso Grand Cru Capsule ( I have been drinking the Decaffeinato Lungo, but I recommend the Vanilio or Caramelito if you aren't cutting back on caffeine.)
- 1- cinnamon stick
- 1- star anise
- 2- homemade marshmallows
- ½ c. 2 % milk
Combine your Nespresso coffee with the steamed milk and foam from your Nespresso Aeroccino. Stir with a cinnamon stick and leave the cinnamon in the mug for added holiday flavor. Top with one star anise and two homemade marshmallows. Enjoy a very tasteful holiday treat!
