I have to be honest, this party was one of the highlights of my summer! It all began when I was perusing Hayneedle's site for inspiration for our August shoot. I loved all of the different prints and patterns that they carried in their dinnerware collections and thought it would be so fun and summery to mix and match them for an outdoor party. (Any excuse to throw a party, right?!) We picked a date, invited some of our favorite blogger friends to partake in the festivities and went shopping on Hayneedle for our backyard blogger bash essentials! (Hop on over and check out the full post here or shop all of these pieces here!)
I love the juxtaposition of a casual appetizer spread with beautiful china patterns. We chose finger foods only to encourage plenty of mingling! We picked up cherry and grape flavored rock candy at Dylan's Candy Bar and used them to make French 75s in our new champagne glasses-- delicious!
The best part about a mix and match party? You can use all of your favorite pieces, despite how many pieces of each you might have. Be sure to mix in a couple solid or neutral elements to pull it all together.
Since the party I have heard about friendships that were struck up that night as well as business collaborations now in the works which makes me so happy! Perhaps we should host a party to kick off fall? Any excuse to host a party... 😉

Those are beautiful. I wish there were more blogger parties in my country, but I live in a smallish town so I might not be able to go to most of them anyway.
