Cranberry + Plum

Let the festivities begin!  It’s officially Thanksgiving week which likely means for the next six weeks until New Year’s Day your calendar will be jam-packed with events, dinner parties, and other social engagements.  When it comes to color combinations, think outside of your usual box.  Being festive doesn’t have to be traditional.  I love the way these two slightly off jewel tones combine to make an outfit or table presentation super luxe and unexpected.  Add some gold … +more

How were everyone’s weekends?  Aaron and I spent the weekend together in NYC which was really nice after his crazy travel schedule these last few weeks.  I’m currently back in LA now and going to hit the ground running this morning.  I’m styling a commercial at the end of the week and have a pretty fun … +more

Happy Monday, y’all!  How were your weekends?  After more than our fair share of warm weather this year, we were greeted here in LA Saturday morning with gray skies and chilly temps.  Since Aaron was traveling for work, it was the perfect excuse to stay-in and get organized.  While cleaning out the pantry I discovered … +more

Looking on the Bright Side

How were your weekends?  Mine went by far too fast.  My sister and her family were out visiting from Texas and I just loved our time together– so much so that I pitched their moving out here at least half a dozen times!  We are having quite the heat wave this week so they already felt right at home!  I am trying to look on the bright side and channel this heat into some saucy summer inspiration and nothing seems … +more

Color Palette {Chevron}

  Good morning, friends!  How were your weekends?  After a lovely few days strolling around Charleston and taking in the beautiful colonial architecture, I was in the mood for something a bit more modern and graphic this morning; these black and white chevron stripes for example.  I love the way patterns in general are able to add an element of interest without introducing new colors to a look or a room, but my favorite part about the chevron stripe is it’s … +more

Color Palette {Patriotic}

If you know me at all, you know that I have a great affinity for the Fourth of July.  While Christmas is really hard to top on the holiday totem pole, the Fourth of July is right up there with it in my book.  What’s not to love? It’s practically a mandate to be outside with friends enjoying really delicious food, games, and of course FIREWORKS!  It is such a low-maintenance holiday too: No gift-giving, multiple parties to attend or … +more

Happy Monday, friends!  How were your weekends?  This was the first weekend in awhile that I wasn’t on a shoot or out of town and while I would have loved to have been in Austin celebrating my great dad, I did enjoy a little downtime at our place.  Saturday morning I shot a really fun beauty story with celebrity make-up artist Elizabeth Ulloa for her site, Smart Chic Beautiful.  I won’t spill too many of the details, but let’s just … +more

Coral

I thought this bright and cheery color was the perfect way to begin the week!  Have you started your spring shopping yet? Promise me you will include something in this beautiful shade!  I am loving it for everything from suede pumps to short shorts and everything in between.  Its pairs great with neutrals like light gray and bright white and looks amazing with other colors: cobalt blue, sunny yellow, and other pinks and oranges!
