This week has been the epitome of summer. For starters, I totally took a vacation from posting yesterday– I hope you all didn’t mind too much! I have been soaking in island life this week in St. Thomas and trying to enjoy what will be the last week of my own summer. Next week is going to be chock full of styling, photo shoots, and a very exciting event that we are announcing at 10 EST today! That means this week I am relishing in all things summer– staying up late with friends, swimming in the caribbean, and mixing up all kinds of tropical cocktails! At the beginning of the season I made a summer bucket list of all of the things that I wanted to do by summer’s end, actually. Some of them have been ticked off the list– Hike the Great Wall, Wine Night at Barnsdall Art Park, while others still remain– Go Paddle Surfing, Eat a Lobster Roll. If you’re looking to make the most of these sweet summer weeks until Labor Day, here are a few bucket list items you can use as your own! Most good things must come to an end eventually, right?
1. Enjoy tropical cocktail concoctions whenever possible. I am definitely a creature of habit when it comes to ordering a drink. Nine times out of ten it’s a Margarita, a French 75, or a glass of Rose this time of year. I decided this summer, though, to take advantage of all of these seasonal fruits and their tropical flavors and branch out every once in awhile with something decidedly summery. I love just about everything that Kate makes over on Cookie + Kate, and this Pineapple Cilantro Serrano Cocktail (image above) was no exception. A little spicy and a lot tropical, this adult beverage is delicious!
2. Stand Up Paddle Surfing: I have wanted to do this for years and am finally ticking this box off my list today! Did you know that paddle surfing can burn up to 850 calories per hour? I cannot think of a more enjoyable way to stay fit than floating atop of crystal blue water while taking in the scenery. (Photo via Women’s Health Mag)
3. Enjoy a Lobster Roll: I still have never had a proper lobster roll, you guys! Anybody know the best place to get one in Southern California? I might be taking matters into my own hands and making these by Just A Taste.
Anything you are hoping to do by summer’s end? Live it up while you can!
