Cool Hunting || Outdoor Entertaining Essentials

Sara, here!  Oh the warm, breezy evenings that summer brings. Something about them makes me create any excuse to invite my nearest and dearest over for cocktails, dinner or a dip in the pool…or all of the above! I have this strange obsession with outdoor entertaining to the point where just maybe I like to pretend I live on a sprawling ranch in an estate somewhere near Napa Valley and my evenings are spent around a bonfire sipping the most perfectly chilled rosé, swapping stories with my besties about that time we very much misbehaved and doubling over in laughter.  What’s that you say?  I live Texas, which is hot, humid and mosquito-filled on most days during the summer? Oh.Well a girl can still dream and that doesn’t stop me from spending every Saturday sipping bourbon under the stars, as if the warm weather will be gone by the time September rolls around. There is just something so dreamy about a relaxed day in the backyard with your closest friends, laughing until it hurts and not being stressed about what Monday might bring.

From pool parties, to BBQs, to cocktail hour, there are so many options for outdoor entertaining and creating that heavenly atmosphere for you and your guests. One of my big entertaining goals this summer is to get a big white bed sheet and setting up an outdoor movie night by my pool like this one…

I am always on the lookout for chic, fun, and (hello!) purposeful outdoor entertaining essentials that will take my next backyard fiesta from ho-hum to legendary status. That includes sometimes mixing some kid-friendly fun in there as well, like making s’mores around a fire pit as cozy as this one…

  1. Feeling so inspired to decorate outside right now! My husband and I just moved into a new house with an adorable little backyard thats all graveled over, so it has the potential to be great for entertaining.. I just need to pick some textiles/colors and get to work.

  2. I love all of this! I could use some of this stuff for my Bastille Day party on Friday!
