As much as finding a new place to live can be a total pain, I (Blair) have some good news for you.  There are so many great & free apps that make things a lot easier now. While we would all love to move into a place where we are surrounded by FRIENDS, I have to constantly remind myself that that was not real life, but a sitcom. Even though everyone dreads the moving out day, these helpful heroes will make sure you won’t be living on the streets anytime soon!

I may be a bit biased because my buddy works for the company, but many of my friends are chatting about Apartment List as well. They recently created “Roommates,” where you can find your roommate match as well as an apartment match! No more creepy Craigslist interviews…

Create your own account to get push notifications and alerts when your apartment musts open up in your area! You can identify how long something has been on the market, save your favorites, and easily contact the landlords directly from the app!

PadMapper {free}

I used PadMapper when I first moved to LA… trying to find apartments in my the area I wanted was easy peasy with this app! Red markers show all the open apartments, so click away and see if anything catches your eye!

MyNewPlace {free}

Looking for a cheap pad? A luxurious apartment? Digs that are dog friendly only? Specific search tools make it easy to customize exactly what you are looking for to find your match made in apartment heaven.

Trulia {free}

Not only is it important to know what your apartment complex is going to be like… it is just as important to see what there is to offer in the neighborhood! See nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and other things you need. Also, learn the crime and school zones on the interactive map so you know what you are signing up for before you make it final!
