A couple of months ago I was bitten with the running bug. It started harmlessly with a simple neighborhood jog which evolved into a daily two mile route. Next thing you know I am running the hiking trail at Fryman Canyon! After almost 10 years of not running, who would have thought?! This new found hobby has me noticing athletic wear in the every day and it’s literally everywhere! There have always been cute sneakers and cotton tees but combine that with the neons that invaded all areas of womenswear and you have one bright athletic get-up! Even beyond activewear, lines like Elizabeth and James and Alexander Wang both used neoprene and other sporty materials in their Spring/Summer collections. I love the idea of a cozy athletic sweatshirt with a flowy, feminine skirt or this cute printed neoprene one below. (Its all about juxtaposition, remember?) No matter how you wear it, it doesn’t look like this trend is going anywhere. Hopefully the same goes with my new found love of running!
