With the olympics right around the corner, what better place to take a trip to than the host city itself, London! Lucky for us, our intern Lexie recently spent a few months studying abroad there and agreed to share her favorite spots around the town with us, along with her must-stay hotel recommendation. Take it away, Lexie!
After studying abroad in London for 4 months this past semester, I can honestly say there is no city I love more than London. With the ability to walk everywhere, everyday becomes an adventure. From walks through Hyde Park to amazing Farmers’ markets, you can truly never be bored in London!
Where to Stay:
While I was abroad, we lived in apartments in Russel Square, however I would highly recommend the W Hotel in Leicester Square. The W Leicester Square is a prime location and walking distance from Trafalgar Square, SOHO, and countless incredible museums and restaurants. It is ultra modern from the lobby to the rooms. Also, my favorite perk about any W hotel…Bliss Spa products in every room!
What to Pack:
The only downside to studying abroad was the requirement of only being allowed to bring two bags. Three words: Accessories! Accessories! Accessories! Since it’s best to pack neutrals of jeans and sweaters, I packed a variety of scarves and hats to switch up my wardrobe. Don’t forget your rain boots either! I love these short Burberry ones that still look stylish while they keep your feet dry.
Where to Dine:
My favorite spots in the city are Basaba Eathai, Wahaca, and Fortnum & Mason for afternoon tea. Something you won’t find on most guides to London? The best places to spot Prince Harry! DSTRKT, Mahiki, and Boujis are going to be your best bets! Good luck, ladies!
