Bethenny Appearances

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone!  Anyone have big plans?  Aaron has been traveling all week for the show, so I think we are going to do more of a staycation.  We have nothing but dinner reservations, hikes, and a lot of rest and relaxation on the agenda for the next three days.  With summer’s official end in sight, I thought I would share with you guys two highlights from my summer: On-air style segments that I did for Bethenny Frankel’s new … +more

What I Want for Fall

I love change.  I do.  I love trying new things, doing things for the first time, and everything about a new and fresh experience.  Perhaps that’s why I am drawn to fashion.  There is always a new designer, trend, and season just waiting to emerge. While few things are new under the sun it’s fascinating, to me, to see styles reinvented and trends retranslated.

With New York fashion week just around the corner, and hopefully some cooler weather quick to … +more

Her Style {Lauren}

…Hutton that is.  I came across the quote below and realized that she had perfectly defined the meaning of Effortless Chic.  The more I learned about her life and the kind of person she was, the more fascinated I became.  Did you know that she has also graced the cover of more issues of Vogue than any other model?  In true trailblazing fashion,  she was also the first model to negotiate a cosmetics deal (with Revlon) and one of … +more

The Savvy Girl’s Guide

Anyone going away for the three day weekend?  Labor Day weekend is just around the corner.  If you’ve got a ticket to ride and a bag to pack, here are a few things to keep in mind:

5. Avoid Unnecessary Wrinkling: Stack Heavy to Light

No matter where you’re going, you don’t want to be a crumpled mess; so to avoid smashing your lovely clothes, pop the heavy items you’re lugging into the bottom of your suitcase. Always use shoe … +more

Brocade

Where did I first fall in love with brocade?  The year was 2005 and the class was Advanced Textiles at the University of Texas.  In a sea of hundreds of fabric swatches, mostly plain weaves that were so incredibly similar, brocade would come leaping out of the page on exam day and make itself known.  Much unlike the cotton percale, brocade wanted me to get an A.  It seems only right, then, that I will spend this fall paying … +more

Wardrobe Essentials

SHOP IT // The Hat // 1, 2, 3 The Collared Shirt // 1, 2, 3 The Riding Boot // 1, 2, 3

It’s no secret that I am ready for fall… And your wardrobe should be also!  Cool breezes, leaves changing color… did I mention cool breezes?  Ready that guest room closet and under the bed storage space for all of your denim shorts and flowy dresses and make sure that these three items are at the ready … +more

Going For Baroque

There is nothing like the thought of fall just around the corner to conjure up longings for all things heavy, velvet, and brocade.  Throw in some gold ornamentation and sparkling jewel tones and voila: an entire palette of inspiration just waiting for the right closet.  I love the way these fabrics quietly exude a luxe sophistication.  These Miu Miu slippers are at the top of my fall want list.  I have a very clear vision of me wearing them with … +more

Her Style {Brandyn}

Brandyn Raymond is hands down one of my favorite Austinites.  We met while at the University of Texas, both of us were in the Textiles and Apparel program, but Brandyn was by far the best dressed of anyone in our class.  For this reason, and other more significant ones, I made it a point to befriend her.  While she currently shows off her stylish side as the marketing coordinator in the office of the governor, she also finds time to … +more
