Cocktail Hour {Margaritas}

With Cinco de Mayo less than a week away, I thought it fit for this edition of Cocktail Hour to pay homage to one of my favorite holidays.  Naturally, that meant margaritas but I thought we should spice things up a bit and try something a little more off the beaten path which is when I landed on a Blood Orange Margarita.  The perfect combination of sweet and tart!  On another note, want to know what I love about holidays … +more

Blueberry Lemon French Toast Cups

Lately I have been loving staying home Saturday mornings and making breakfast.  Last weekend we had ham & gruyere omelettes with fresh spring onion from our CSA box and they were delicious!  Aaron has had a pretty hectic week of travel so I am thinking about treating him to this totally delectable dish come Saturday morning.  I stumbled upon this new blog and recipe and think it might be perfect for a slow, lazy morning with the hubby!

More or Less

There seem to be two very distinct factions of style in play right now.  One plays by the rules that there are no rules.  The more patterns, the more colors, the more accessories the better.  The other is decidedly more minimal and classic.  Think Narciso Rodriguez or The Row in contrast to Kate Spade or J.Crew.  Neither is right, just a difference in preference of personal style.  Which do you prefer?

Vacation in {Saint Tropez}

I love planning a trip.  I love every single part of the process down to the little details of which local spots are best for breakfast and and the schedules of the local transportation.  I think we are keeping our travels domestic this summer, but I am not going to let that stop me from planning some of my fantasy trips.  Our first stop today is Saint Tropez, France.  Once an unassuming fishing village on the French Riviera, it is … +more

Vacation Shoes

My parents just left yesterday after a 5 day visit here in LA.  Having them here felt like I was on vacation.  We went to Catalina, Wine Tasting in Santa Ynez, and visited some new sites here around town.  The weather was warm, the food was yummy, and now I am itching for an actual vacation!  When I spotted these Paloma Barcelo wedges it only made matters worse.  The spanish shoes are handcrafted and perfect for a weekend in Mexico, … +more

Traveling Right

Happy Friday all of you!  My parents flew into town on Wednesday and we have been going non-stop!  Besides the necessary culinary tour of the city that always ensues when we have visitors, we spent yesterday going to Catalina Island for the day and tomorrow we are headed up to Santa Barbara to do a little wine tasting!  Since I am otherwise engaged these couple of days, I thought I would introduce you to my fabulous intern, Elih!  She has … +more

Her Style {Ashley Nelson}

I am always fascinated by authentic personal style.  Anytime I am shopping for a specific job, I have to constantly remind myself what I am shopping for!  It is so hard for me to focus on one thing when I happen upon pieces that would be so perfect for other clients or friends.   I’ll see a piece and immediately think “Oh so-and-so would love that!” or “That blazer is so her!”

As an ode to personal style I created … +more

Guest Room Makeover

You know what is such a luxury to me?  A guest bedroom.  For the last six years that I’ve lived in LA, my sweet friends and family have either slept on an air mattresses or booked hotel rooms while visiting.  Don’t get me wrong, they have been real troopers about it but that’s why I am so glad to finally be able to offer them an actual room. Which is precisely why I am obsessed with making it perfect!  Below … +more
