Happy New Year!

Despite the fact that it is quite commonly known as the most over-rated day of the year, I happen to REALLY love new years eve!  What is better than spending the evening with friends, yummy food & delicious drinks, and toasting to the infinite possibilities that a new year brings?  We are having dinner at one of our favorite spots in the neighborhood with a few close friends and then heading back to our place for a little shindig later … +more

Back in December I was scavenging for fresh faced, local fashion designers in hopes of being able to feature their products in our holiday gift guides. That is how I first came across The De Lacy Collection.  From playful party frocks to effortless tees and maxi skirts, I immediately fell in love!  For more of the collection, check out their website here.  Would you like to win a piece of your own? Garden Party

After arriving back in LA Monday night, I was greeted yesterday morning by a promise of 75 degree weather.  So what did I do? Strapped on my rubber Tretorn boots (I have dubbed the green ones garden boots and my navy ones rain boots) and spent the day in the yard!  I planted seeds of oregano, parsley, and basil in tiny pots for our kitchen window and harvested even more lemons and limes from our very fruitful trees.  The realization … +more

The Morning After…{Deals}

Perhaps the best thing that technology has to offer us is the ability to participate in day-after-Christmas bargain shopping without even the possibility of a wrestling match over the last tree topper.  For some of the best post-holiday retail sales, say goodbye to the stress and hassle and hello to some new additions to your closet– all without leaving your warm, cozy living room!

I chose these pieces because all of them are pretty season-less and will easily transition into … +more

Merry Christmas!

After a night of tamales with the family and candlelight service at church, we started this morning with my dad’s famous migas and banana nut pancakes before we indulged in the unwrapping of all of the beautiful packages that had accumulated under the tree.  Grills for the boys, serving dishes and cozy Restoration Hardware blankets for the girls, and lots of other sweet surprises amassed.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday and indulging in some much needed rest and … +more

Currently Obsessed

Since we touched down in Austin late Saturday night it has been non-stop parties and get-togethers with friends!    Perhaps that is why I have been craving all things sparkling!  My most recent purchase was a skinny gold belt which I imagine will make its first appearance at our Black & Gold themed New Year’s Eve party.  However that doesn’t seem to have done anything to assuage the craving.  I can’t stop thinking about these beauties… And no matter what … +more

Texas Road Trip

We arrived in Austin on Saturday night and have been going non-stop ever since!  We did some holiday shopping on Sunday afternoon and then had a family Christmas party on Sunday night where Santa came to visit. (Sidebar- The santa claus that comes to visit my nephews and second cousins is the same Santa whose lap my cousins and I sat on when we were little!)  By the time we woke up Monday we were ready for a little adventure … +more

Budget Baubles

Before we left town on Saturday, I had to make a quick pit stop to Neil Lane to pick up my vintage engagement ring that was being cleaned and tuned up.  (We also made pitstops at Fedex, the post office, a friends’s house and Olive & Thyme for lunch which led to our very rushed packing time which led to Aaron forgetting his camera and me not packing a coat… oops!)  Anytime I am at Neil Lane, I can’t help … +more
