I have been checking things off my to-do list left and right and counting down the days until breathtaking beaches and tropical drinks!  Now only one thing remains: packing!

I got a call about a job in the city yesterday afternoon and wasn’t actually even ticketed until I was en route to LAX this morning.  Everything worked out, though, and I am cozied up here in New York and ready to hit the ground running tomorrow morning!  The next three days will be filled with super market sweep shopping, creative styling and fun photo shoots.

I mentioned yesterday that Aaron and I went to the opening of the new exhibit on the California Design Biennial.  I also mentioned that it was amazing.  What I did not mention, though, was how long it took me to decide what to wear!  Eek! (In my defense I was working around one very specific pair of handmade suede Esquivel shoes since he was one of the designers being showcased, but still. No excuses!

Aaron and I went to the opening of the new California Design Biennial Exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of California Art tonight which was featuring one of my favorite shoe designers, George Esquivel.  If you are local, you must check it out!

I think someone just told Los Angeles it was July.

We had been enjoying the most unbelievable 70 degree weather for weeks when two days ago it started to get toasty!  So today I will brave the heat (people in Texas are rolling their eyes, I know) and continue prepping for a photo shoot on Monday.  And I might, just maybe do a little personal shopping as I count down the days until this:

I love this look Rachel Bilson is wearing for so many reasons.  It is classic, not trendy, and will never go out of style.  You can wear it just as easily to the office as you can to lunch with girlfriends, or to see the latest documentary photography exhibit at the Getty.  (Which I totally wish I was doing today, by the way!)  Anyways, this look is perfectly polished and ultimately effortless chic!
