Reading the small print

In the midst of an always bustling schedule, the last thing it seems that I find time for is reading.  Oh how I love to read, too!

With the next three months on the calendar packed with events, traveling,  and to-do lists, I have committed to spending the day in bed with a book… or three… and a magazine… or perhaps two…

Inspiration from J-Town

There is nothing as inspiring as a Thursday afternoon trip to Japantown for fashion mags.

Ahhh… What is it about Japanese fashion that is so effortless?

The attention to small details?

Timeless silhouettes?

Organic, lived-in fabrics?

All of the above… and so much more.

White Out

At the photo shoot I was on today, the wardrobe was all about winter white.

Why?  Everything else pops against it.  Make-up looks dewy and fresh.  Skin,  no matter how many months into winter you are, always looks tan and glowing.  For editorial purposes it is a great way to draw attention to the person and the bigger picture as opposed to the wardrobe.

Thought of the Day… Balance

So it is a little off the beaten track today, but the thought of the day is two things really.  First of all, working hard doesn’t have to look hard. The best of us make even our most tedious tasks look effortless.  However, that being said, we can conjure up all of the effort and energy in the world and there will still be only 1, 440 minutes in each day.  That’s right.
