I love Thanksgiving. It is truly a gateway holiday. Beyond it lie only wonderfully festive days, parties, and holidays. We spent this Thanksgiving in the mountains of Colorado drinking warm delicious beverages and skiing down snowy slopes. It was an amazing few days and has me currently hung up on outerwear that is the perfect mix of warmth and fashion. A match made in– but not limited to– the mountains!

Nearly colorless, but filled with so much depth, I love the contrasting textures of these two boards. The first comes off lighthearted and airy, while the second is super luxe and somewhat moody. I love the stained concrete floors with the soft silk and velvet upholstery.

So it is a little off the Effortless Chic beaten path, but today’s trip to Sur la Table was so inspired that it deserved a mention! What, you may ask, was the purchase du jour? 3 vintage-inspired metal cake stands! This week they will house the likes of Lemon Meringue squares and marbled chocolate cake since we have house guests, but ApartmentTherapy.com provides many other uses to ensure they never get dusty!
